ANA GUTIERREZ
Artist Biography
I was born in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela on April 29th, 1963. I grew up in Venezuela, the land of the beloved sun, filled with many bright and vivid colors with cheerful people and a spectacular culture.
I began my great experience in the plastic arts when I moved to Madrid to study for three years. Fashion design in IADE, that’s where my adventure in the world of creativity began; I was surrounded by works of great visual artists like Velázquez, Goya, Picasso, Dali, Monet, Manet and many others. This immersion of different artistic tendencies such a impressionism and cubism made me define myself as a plastic artist and led me to understand where my inspiration and tendencies would be in my art work.
I moved to Atlanta in 2002, where I lived for 13 years, and there I got to know the charming Southern style and the Vintage technique which all made part of my new born art trend.
When I moved to Miami in 2014, I began working with Mis Meninas in an abstract figurative style that provides an open page to the imagination and allows the audience to create their own stories.
I could not do my biography without including my family and friends who have always supported me in my adventure of being able to reach my dreams. Gracias!
